The Story Continues…Lala’s Journals Part 3

After a brief hiatus, Tomilola Coco’s Lala’s Journals is back!
Chima and I had been introduced by his cousin Chioma and we hit it off almost immediately. He wasn’t the regular tall dark handsome guy every girl would have wanted but he was funny, smart and amazing. I had fallen for him almost immediately and we had amazing moments.
Things had been too good to be true for us but like they say, if looks too good to be true, then it is too good to be true.
I had woken up one morning to find Mrs Chima at my doorstep and to make it worse with a baby in her hands.
I pulled into my compound and shot into the only parking space near my Landlord’s car. He was back from wherever he usually travelled to. Yetunde got down from the car and we both headed to my flat.
Life after Chima had been difficult and I had my friends to thank for sanity after that. I had promised myself to always be there for me whenever they needed me. Always. And that was why I didn’t let Yetunde feel alone during her separation from her husband. I had taken her in, ready to share my flat with her till it was fine for her to be on her own again and Chioma and I had found a job for her with a private school. The best we could at the time.
“Your landlord is home” she said “now no late nights for us. Curfew has started” she joked and I smiled at her. I still wasn’t in the best of moods but I was getting better.
“Lala, you still miss him don’t you?” She asked when we entered the flat.
“I don’t know Yetunde. Should I? This guy is an asshole.” I answered, Chima had not made any move to contact me through Chioma or any other means since we last spoke
“You should let it all go. Its been a year. You have to move on”
The doorbell rang and I checked my wristwatch. It was 9.30pm. Who was it? It had to be my landlord. The one who didn’t understand the meaning of privacy. I prepared to tell him in the most polite way that I could to go away and allow me to sleep.
When I opened the door, it wasn’t my landlord standing outside, it was Chima, standing there, in human form and with a smile on his lips.
“Hi Laitan”
Read Part I and II here and here to get up to speed with what’s been going down!
