Well that’s what the folks over at Ghana Celebrities are reporting!

Asides Iyanya dumping Yvonne Nelson over allegations that she was hooking up with wealthy older men for money for Tonto Dikeh, it is being reported that another reason for the acrimonious breakup is because his close friends started teasing him about her “bleaching” her skin, some even gave her a special nickname – Ghanaian Oyinbo! Wow that’s just harsh! LOL!

Allegations of Yvonne Nelson bleaching her chocolate brown skin to a lighter shade have been rife for a few months now. I can’t say for sure she is bleaching (or toning) her skin but she certainly appears a few shades lighter. Who knows it could be down to better standard of living, spending less time in the sun, investing in expensive skin treatments like chemical peels or makeup/lighting trickery? However a lot of folks are pretty convinced the leggy Ghanaian actress is resorting to harmful bleaching creams.

But if Iyanya did really have a problem with Yvonne Nelson bleaching her skin, what about Tonto Dikeh? Even though she is naturally light skinned, she is also alleged to be a skin bleach user.

In related news according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Nigeria has the highest percentage of users of skin bleaching products, with 77% of women in Nigeria using skin-lightening products.

No judgement here, but I really want to know the reason why women and some men bleach their skin?
