This man is sick, battling a life threatening Kidney ailment, he needs a $100,000 (16 Million Naira) that he clearly does not have to treat his disease and as if that is not bad enough he is now being forced to explain why he needs $100, 000 after Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim in a rant last week on social media claimed that based on her extensive knowledge of kidney transplant operations in India (she says she runs a kidney disease foundation in Ghana) they cost $50,000 and not the $100000 being appealed for by OJB Jezreel & concerned friends.
kidney transplant surgeon actress made these comments as she also complained about “celebrities” being harassed by fans to donate to OJB’s cause. While I understand her frustration at being hounded (if indeed she was) by fans to donate, but her comments on the cost of treatment was totally uncalled for & she put her foot in it insinuating the ailing producer is a fraud!
OJB has responded to her accusations in an interview with Encomium magazine, he addresses why his treatment costs $100,000. Saying:
The mistake she’s making is that it depends on the hospital you are going to in India. She says she runs a foundation, they might give her a rebate. The procedure itself is $55, 000. When you take out $55, 000, you are left with $45, 000. What about the running cost of the procedure? You don’t go to India only to come back and start asking for help again. At least, I need some money to maintain myself for the next one year. So when you factor in all these costs, add air tickets and lodging, you will appreciate what we are talking about.
The entire episode has made Juliet a more famous in Naija. I heard she was even trending on twitter, so if that’s what she was after, mission accomplished. Happy now Juliet?
