Joan Rivers’ daughter Melissa is suing the New York City clinic where her mom died. The clinic operated on the celebrated comic shortly before she died on September 4, 2014 at the age of 81.
According to E! Online, Melissa Rivers has just filed a lawsuit against the New York City endoscopy clinic and doctors where Joan Rivers was operated on shortly before her untimely death on Sept. 4. Melissa said in a statement shortly after news of the lawsuit went public,
Filing this lawsuit was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make. What ultimately guided me was my unwavering belief that no family should ever have to go through what my mother, Cooper and I have been through. The level of medical mismanagement, incompetency, disrespect, and outrageous behavior is shocking and frankly, almost incomprehensible. Not only did my mother deserve better, every patient deserves better. It is my goal to make sure that this kind of horrific medical treatment never happens to anyone again.
This clinic is about to cough up some serious cash & then go out of business. It was reported shortly after Rivers death that the doctor who operated on her, took a selfie photo in the procedure room while Rivers was under anesthesia.
Joan Rivers left a fortune of over a $150 Million to her daughter and grandson, Cooper.
