As of yesterday March 16, 2015 Ibinabo Fibresima is no longer the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. Ibinabo won election in October amid opposition from a number of Nollywood practitioners. One of whom dragged her to the Federal High Court to file a suit against her leadership.
Yesterday High Court judge, Justice James Tsoho ruled that the October 2014 election that saw Ibinabo win a second term as AGN president was against a court order by fellow actor Emeka Ike, which was filed in July 2013 and restrained the AGN from conducting elections. Hence making the Oct. 2014 elections illegal.
The present suit referring to the 2013 court order was filed by actor Maradonna Mikevine.
There has been no comment from the AGN or Fibresima addressing her removal.
