27 year old South African rapper AKA has been in Nigeria for about a week. And if you follow him on Instagram you would know he is having the time of his life in Lagos, where he has been hanging out with Burna Boy, MI, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz and many other musicians. The fine boy from SA loves Nigeria so much he has the Nigerian flag in his Twitter header pic.
Yesterday he tweeted that he feels more love and respect from Nigerians than he does back home in South Africa especially since the Xenophpbic attacks against other Africans started in SA.
I feel more respected and welcomed in Nigeria than I do in South Africa. And that’s the sad truth ….

Some of his country men weren’t pleased with what he wrote and went in on him. See their tweets after the jump

@akaworldwide I absolutely love your music. But many South Africans are thrown off by your ways. Basically, you can be a dick sometimes.

@akaworldwide Same like a man always feeling more welcome by side chick than by wife. Short sightedness & ignorance is the cause.

@akaworldwide don’t over-lay your hopes by despising and selling your people out, they could be key in your future

Ur music sucks “@akaworldwide: I feel more respected and welcomed in Nigeria than I do in South Africa. And that’s the sad truth ….”
— Am Human No Labels (@desireGimx) April 28, 2015
All this because the man said he gets more respect from Nigerians than he does from his own people.
However this Twitter user may just have hit the nail on the head, as to why he’s getting so much love from Nigeria…
