When Nigerians find something that is trending they latch on to it until it just becomes annoying. And that’s exactly what’s happening with this “Trekking” trend.

I had no idea that one had to trek hundreds of miles to prove your love for someone but clearly some people do…

It all started during the presidential elections campaign when Suleiman Hashimu promised to walk from Lagos to Abuja if Buhari won…he did win and the man trekked for about 18 days, plus, making the long journey on foot. He met the president elect, got a hand shake and a rousing welcome to Abuja. Then another trekker fo Buhari emerged, next thing another one said he would ride his bicycle from Sokoto to Abuja just for Buhari while we were still assimilating all these Trekkers and bicycle riders, uncle Charly Boy promised to ride his motorbike from Lagos to China…if Buhari makes the Maura equal to a dollar!!! Lollllz…jokes!

I thought that would be the last of this trekking galore until today when 35 year old Paul Jamasuru Tankwa announced today he would make the long trek from Taraba State to GEJ’s home state of Bayelsa, to congratulate him for conceding defeat…why can’t he just get on a bus? Surely it would be quicker!

WHAT DO YOI THINK OF THIS TREKKING TREND? MAKE IT STOP OR KEEP TREKKING?
