Italian high end designers Dolce & Gabbana has launched its first-ever hijab and abaya collection.
While the move was seen as a game changer for a mainstream fashion brand doing a clothing aimed at Muslim women, some muslim women are side eyeing the whole move! With some saying the brand is exploiting muslim women with one writer,Al-Khatahtbeh pointing out that the model used for D&G campaign is “still a white-passing woman that might not even be Muslim,”
Others took to Twitter to make their feelings known.

The whole D&G #hijab collection reeks of western double standards. You don't want women to wear it, and yet, you wanna make money off it!

D&G needs to chill with their hijab collection bc all of us buy our hijabs at H&M and I'm not going to stop that now bye

"D&G have released their own line of hijabs and abayas making them the latest brand to cater to Muslim women" D&G: *only uses white models*

Also, why has D&G used white models if they are making a line for Muslim women? #AppropriationMuch
