For a couple of days now, we have all been buzzing about the $43.4 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million raw cash that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), discovered in a luxury apartment in the highbrow Ikoyi area of Lagos.

Since it’s discovery there have been allegations circulating in the media that the apartment in question – 7B, No. 16, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos belongs to Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and that the former Rivers governor gifted another apartment – 7A to EbonyLife TV CEO – Mo Abudu.

This has forced Ms Abudu to release a statement via her lawyers refuting these claims. Former Gov Amaechi has also denied owning the property.

Unfounded media reports have also claimed that the said apartment belongs to Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue a former Managing Director at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) who was sacked over “missing” 130m litres of petrol, one of Anthony Anenih’s daughters and former PDP National Chairman, Adamu Muazu – all of whom have denied owning the property.

While everyone and their mama is now denying the property, there have been unconfirmed reports  that the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) our own CIA is claiming it’s their money which they stashed in the apartment for a covert operation…

Covert operation but the Chibok girls are still missing 3 years after…

The money has now been forwarded to the FG….

Which way Nigeria.
