So yesterday [July 8] as we all watched in utter dismay as the highbrow Lekki and Victoria Island areas of megacity Lagos became partially submerged under floods.

Social media became awash (pun intended) with photos and videos of a man who ingeniously decided to get his canoe out for a kayaking session along the super flooded Ahmadu Bello Way in Victoria Island.

Right in front of Silverbird Galleria this unidentified caucasian man was seen happily paddling away on the flooded VI street, not knowing he was about to go viral within minutes!

This morning another caucasian male identified as visual artist, Carl Alakija took out his colourful canoe around the block…the block being the flooded Ribadu road in Ikoyi.

These guys are on to something! Forget cars, we should all get canoes, best way to get around in this flooded season!
