A company in Wisconsin, United States has just announced it’s plans to implant microchips under the skin of their employees.
Three Square Market, a company that designs software for breakroom markets, will become the first in the US to offer microchip implants to its employees. According to their press release, the program will be optional for employees and the company will begin implementation on August 1.
The implanted Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) chip will allow workers to make purchases in their break room micro market, open doors, login to computers, use the copy machine, among other things.
Wondering how the chip will be implanted? The press release says it will be underneath the skin between the thumb & forefinger. The chip won’t be any larger than a small grain of rice and 50 employees have already signed up for it.
The company explains that the chip will not have GPS tracking and will only be used to pay for products in stores.
