We all know someone who’s looking for a job or trying to change jobs, and how everyone wants to make more money. An estimated 25% of youth were unemployed in 2016 and this doesn’t include the thousands of persons that have graduated from university since the start of this year.
So where does this leave us?
One thing we can’t ignore is that the world has gone digital and digital is here to stay. If we are going to keep up with the fast paced changes in the world, we need to make sure that we have all the skills we need to compete at a global scale.
You might be asking yourself ‘how can I access these skills?’
Well, as Africans we are very fortunate to have access to Digital Skills For Africa, a free digital skills training offered by Google. Already, over one million people have taken advantage of the program and the technology giant has committed to training millions more across the continent. There are several offline training sessions every week in Nigeria and an online training portal which allows you take lessons from the comfort of your home. As an icing on the cake, the training offers participants a certificate upon completion.
This is a great opportunity for everyone whether you are a business owner, job seeker, or career person. So what are you waiting for? Visit g.co/digitalskills to get started.
