The latest reporting on the situation, from the Daily Beast, quoted a "senior adviser to [Ukraine's] interior minister" who said Ukraine is ready to investigate Biden's son Hunter Biden if the Trump Administration makes an "official request". The source emphasized Ukraine was just "part" of the complaint, suggesting that it included more than one element/allegation. Cuomo sneeringly dismissed Giuliani, saying the former mayor was throwing out conspiracy theories about Biden to distract from the whistleblower complaint. The inspector general investigated the complaint and deemed it credible, forwarding it to the acting director as required, according to a letter from the inspector general released by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.
House Democrats cited a July 25 call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which they said the president apparently focused on the investigations, telling Zelensky that he is "convinced the new Ukrainian government will be able to quickly improve [the] image of Ukraine [and] complete [the] investigation of corruption cases, which inhibited the interaction between Ukraine and the United States of America".
Earlier this month, the House Oversight, Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committees launched an investigation into an alleged "scheme" by Trump and Giuliani to influence the Ukrainian government to boost the president's re-election bid.
Vice President Mike Pence met with Zelensky twice in September.
"So you did ask Ukraine to look into Joe Biden", Cuomo said.
"No, actually I didn't".
Cuomo interrupted, "You never asked anything about Hunter Biden?".
The president also called the poll, which shows him losing to Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Pete Buttigieg, "a phony suppression poll, meant to build up their Democrat partners".

Said Joe Scarborough: "I found it very telling that Mitch McConnell caved yesterday, very telling that after doing Vladimir Putin's bidding over the past several years, and refusing to listen to all the intel chiefs that Donald Trump appointed to protect American democracy against what they call an imminent threat, that Mitch McConnell chose yesterday, as this story was exploding about other foreign interference in American democracy, that's when he finally caved and stopped worrying about Vladimir Putin and started worrying about protecting and defending American democracy".
The younger Biden joined the board of a Ukrainian gas company, Burisma, in 2014. Zlochevsky was subsequently investigated for corruption, and a new prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin, took over the investigation in 2015, Politifact noted. Biden threatened to withhold loan money from the country over it. The Post spoke to "two former USA officials familiar with the matter". The case against Zlochevsky languished while Shokin was prosecutor.
