OnePlus has gone to town making sure the rear of the TV looks great too, with a hidden bay for all the connections. Packed with new features and upgrade hardware, the OnePlus 7T is slightly expensive that the predecessor with a price tag of Rs 37,999 for the base variant. However, the reduced price is only confirmed for the 8GB + 128GB storage variants.
The OnePlus 7T will be available on October 18 in Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver at OnePlus for $599 (about R9000.00). Open sale on Amazon.in begins at 12:00am on September 29, 2019.
The launch and sale offers include a one-time screen replacement, 10 per cent off on SBI cards and EMI purchases, and no-cost EMI options.
Before we get to my thoughts, let's talk about the pricing and availability.
The new device features the same buttery smooth 6.55in fluid AMOLED display tech from OnePlus 7 Pro. This is also because of the tall 20:9 aspect ratio display on the 7T.
The OnePlus TV gets Dolby Vision and, surprisingly, HDR10+, both of which are a high-quality for HDR than the vanilla HDR10 codec. Upfront, it has the familiar face from the OnePlus 7.
Unlike the Pro, there is still a notch, a small trade-off for the price, however, the notch is now 31.46% smaller than the one on the 7.
Onwards to processor, the phone has a Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is the most powerful chip on the market now. UFS 3.0 flash storage is included in the phone, and the same goes for 8GB of RAM. The anticipated device arrives with an impressive triple-camera setup and an enhanced camera app. There are three cameras at the back, comprising of a 48MP wide lens, 16MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2X telephoto lens for better-zoomed shots.
If the OnePlus TV sounds like the device of your dreams, you can pre-order it now, as long as you live in India; and can spare 69,900 Rupees for the standard OnePlus TV, or 99,000 Rupees for the Pro version. On top of that users can get up to Rs 3,620.00 off on exchange.
OnePlus TV is now being launched only in India.
"We think it's been a pretty good time period [since the 7 Pro launch]", OnePlus CMO Kyle Kiang said. The company even bragged about how it has a 120% colour gamut score with NTSC, and a 96% score by a different standard.
Both the models offer scintillating 4K resolutions which the company attributed to the use of what it calls as the Gamma Color Magic chip. It features a minimalist and clean design with thin bezels and metallic stand.
The OnePlus 55 Q1 Pro is powered by an Android operating system, meaning that you will have access to a whole load of applications and services at your fingertips. As previously reported, the device comes with a carbon fiber pattern on the back. It's why you'll sometimes see the Xiaomi Mi TV Pro referred to as a "full-screen" TV, but there does not seem to be a huge difference in border size between the Xiaomi and OnePlus sets. It has dual stereo speakers, USB-C and a dual-SIM slot.
