SpaceX forced to scrub Falcon 9 launch to the International Space Station

The launch will take off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, and will use a Dragon cargo capsule that SpaceX has already flown twice previously, first in 2014 and then again in 2017.

Upper-level winds can damage the rocket or knock it off course while on its path into space.

The Robotic Tool Stowage (RiTS), a protective storage unit for critical robotic tools, will be launched on December 4 with SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, according to NASA. "We launch data balloons to measure actual winds".

The hotel, RiTS will be attached to the outside of the ISS to create and save storage on the inside.

Outfitted with mass spectrometers capable of "sniffing" out the presence of gases such as ammonia, these robotic tools are used to detect leaks from the station. The robotic tools are on board the station right now.

"The objective is to protect sensitive tools and make them more accessible and easier to use", Mark Neuman, RiTS project manager for Northrop Grumman.

The leak detectors until now have required 12 hours of preparation time in space, once brought through airlocks, to be usable.

The tool stowage assembly was developed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., in partnership with NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. That experiment is part of Anheuser-Busch's effort to make Budweiser "the first beer on Mars", according to Wired.

SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk in 2002, manufacturers and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft with the goal of "enabling people to live on other planets", the company's website explains.
