Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter about his insane year (outside The Mandalorian he was directing The Lion King, starring in Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home and co-hosting Netflix's The Chef Show), Favreau put the topic on his baby Yoda = popular theory.
To this point, we have no idea what his actual name is and Star Wars creator George Lucas has never revealed any information about Yoda's species, thus the Baby Yoda moniker.
There's hope yet though - "The Mandalorian" season 2 is underway, with Favreau directing an episode this time around.
Baby Yoda, or as Disney refers to him, "The Child", stole the hearts of many Star Wars fans and Disney+ subscribers alike on November 12 after making his debut appearance on The Mandalorian last month.
As a result of the character's unexpected success, Disney has finally begun rolling out Baby Yoda merchandise, including mugs, T-shirts, sweaters and phone cases. We know who he's in line alongside with his habits [sic] and what he stands for, however we don't know loads of little print about where he comes from or his species.
"I think that part of what people really value is to be surprised and delighted, and I think that's becoming all too rare", Favreau told the entertainment news outlet, "It's very hard to keep secrets about projects you're working on". "By holding back on that one product, we knew that we may have had the disadvantage of not having toys available day and date, but what we got in exchange was an excitement surrounding the character, because everybody felt like they discovered him together". That imitated more what my experience growing up resembled. The character managed to steal the hearts of Star Wars fans all over ever since he first appeared in the first episode of The Mandalorian. Be that as it may, I think the genuine explanation individuals love Baby Yoda so much is on the grounds that he's so darn charming, and in light of the fact that he's essentially a mobile image manufacturing plant.
"There's unquestionably the chance to investigate these characters past what we've exhibited on the show".
"This is a strong indication that the "Star Wars" series is driving a lot of sign-ups to the recently-debuted Disney Plus service", according to Business Insider. It's very thrilling for me because of I get to declare reports over the route of several hours and now not only correct all the intention in which during the footprint of one theatergoing skills. "I believe it won't be long until we run into each other the other way".
