"Bush, he gets us into the war, he gets us into the Middle East, that was a beauty", Trump says.
"Get rid of her. Get her out tomorrow".
"She's not a simple fool [,] trust me", Parnas responded. Take her out. OK? Trump has denied knowing the pair and dismissed numerous pictures of them together as just photos that were taken at public events.
However, on the recording, it is alleged that you can hear the voice of Parnas along with his partner Eli Fruman who has also been indicted, telling someone believed to be the President how the USA ambassador has been bad-mouthing him.
Parnas has previously described the dinner in interviews, saying he saw Trump tell a senior official, John DeStefano, to dismiss the ambassador. "All of the ambassadors for the United States of America serve at the pleasure of the president of the United States", Pence said, according to a pool report.
"The biggest problem there, I think where we need to start is we gotta get rid of the ambassador ..."
Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is sworn in prior to providing testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in the Longworth House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington on November 15, 2019. He followed that admission with an apology to Yovanovitch, saying he now believes he was wrong about her. President Trump has distanced himself from Parnas, and the president's supporters have questioned his credibility and motives.
Yovanovitch was removed from her post in April 2019.
Yovanovitch, who was ultimately recalled from Kiev, testified before the House of Representatives during the impeachment hearings.
The identities of others participating in the recorded conversation are unclear.
"First, the Vice President said he knew nothing about it, but the State Department knew about it because they were concerned when people were being put up for confirmation that that issue might arise".
However, Pompeo had been confirmed and privately sworn in days earlier.
Nadler showed the video on the Senate floor on Thursday, the second day of opening arguments for the impeachment trial.
"He even had a breakdown and screamed, 'fire her!'" to another assistant, Parnas claimed, and the assistant replied, "Mr. President, I can't do that".
If determined to be true, this would go against previous statements made by President Trump and lends more credibility to the allegations put forward by Lev Parnas, a former business associate of Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani who has since been indicted in NY, during broadcast interviews in recent days.
One of the key issues being debated is the degree of first hand evidence on the president, with his lawyers dismissing numerous claims against him as "hearsay".
"Sure, but you have to understand I see thousands of people", he said. Parnas has released multiple photographs showing him with not just Trump but his children and grandchildren. "I know we've heard a lot of innuendoes so far". Don't know what he's about, don't know where he comes from, know nothing about him.
A spokesperson for the US Attorney's Office in Manhattan, Nicholas Biase, said about the recording: "I can not confirm or comment on whether the documents exist or are part of the discovery in a criminal proceeding In progress".
Recently, Parnas has become more outspoken, claiming that Trump and everyone on his team were fully aware of the various ways the Ukrainian government was being persuaded to investigate the Bidens.
Joseph A. Bondy, Parnas' attorney, tweeted at the time that the materials were brought to House investigators "despite every stumbling block placed in our path" since his client's arrest.
ABC news reported that a copy of the recording is now in the custody of federal prosecutors in New York's Southern District, who declined to comment.
