Whatever the motivation behind Wande Coal‘s recent weight loss is(some say the recent Mo Hits split is to blame and others claim he sought help online) he needs to stick with it cos he looks great. Let’s not even front WC has been looking very chubby lately and it wasn’t a good look.

In his latest video Private Trips he looked fresh but it appeared his weight gain was now hindering his dance moves…as they were lazily executed.

In a recent photo he posted on Instagram WC is looking considerably slimmer and it suits him! Bwoi is looking too bahd!

So I just got this brand spanking new promo photo of Genevieve Nnaji and the accompanying official statement about her new role in the movie adaptation of Chimamanda Adichies’s best selling novel Half of a Yellow Sun, from her publicist.

I am not 100% sure about Shan George‘s age…but she’s been in the game about 2 decades so I’m guessing she’s somewhere in her mid 40s (at least!). Nigeria’s 1st supermodel Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi last week was one of many supermodels at The Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner and Dance event at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City.

In an in-depth and revealing interview with NetNG’s Ayeni the Great in London, D’Banj finally broke his silence on all the Mo Hits, Don Jazzy drama. No subject was off limits…the koko master did no hold back revealing insights in to the split saying Don Jazzy INITIATED the split not him because he was scared, how the Kanye deal REALLY happened, how HE ran Mo Hits for 9 years and set up all of their endorsement and business deals, not Don Jazzy as widely believed.

He doesn’t stop there he also accuses Don Jazzy of betraying him and tweeting from Wande Coal’s account. After emails between the two were leaked a few weeks ago, in which he claimed he bought Don Jazzy a bentley, WC responded to those claims by tweeting “saying that he bought a car for Don Jazzy is wrong and untrue. Come onnnnnn. I can’t take it any longer”.  Wande has since deleted that tweet and D’Banj is accusing Don Jazzy of sending it out not Wande.

Hollywood D-Listers Lynn Whitfield, Isiah Washington (Grey’s Anatomy), Morris Chestnut (The Best Man) joined Nollywood and Gollywood’s finest (that is those that didn’t make it to Stephanie Okereke’s Paris Wedding) at the AMAA (African Movie Academy Awards) 2012 which took place yesterday night in Lagos, Nigeria

The fashion on this red carpet na die! Between Uche Jumbo‘s bright yellow pant suit and Ghanian actress Lydia Forson’s ghastly makeup I just couldn’t! But there were some bright spots namely Empress Njamah who looked stunning in her body con dress (didn’t like her shoes though), Eku Edewor, Kate Henshaw, Eku Edewor and Nse Ekpi Etim also looked stunning in their gowns.

And there was Dencia…in her trademark catsuit.

I know Rita Dominic attended but i couldn’t get my hands on any red carpet photos of her.

Check out Nollywood heavyweights Genevieve Nnaji, Monalisa Chinda, Ini Edo & Stephanie Okereke sans makeup grabbing breakfast in Paris earlier today. The actresses are in the city of love for the spring wedding of their colleague Stephanie Okereke, which is going down tomorrow.

Where is Omo Sexy? Wasn’t she invited?!

Karen sure knows how to keep her personal life private. I haven’t heard anything about her dating anyone or even being photographed on the red carpet and functions with any one other than Denrele…could she be engaged to Denrele?! LOL

So you can imagine my surprise yesterday when I saw her tweet “He proposed ” followed by “He said karen will you marry me?” I honestly thought she was clowning her followers. But it looks like it’s no belated April Fools as she posted a twitpic with the engagement ring.

Congrats girl! Now I wonder who this mystery man is….it’s quite possible it’s Denrele o!

So it looks like while we were all embroiled in the Don Jazzy/DBanj beef and subsequent demise of their label Mo Hits…Daniel Banjo Dapo Oyebanjo was actually signing new label deals. This time with Mercury Records UK/Island Def Jam UK, and no Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music hasn’t dropped him. MR/IDJ UK will represent him in the UK.

D’Banj is in excellent company at the label some of his label mates are Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Elton John, Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez amongst many others.

Compared to when he and Don Jazzy signed with G.O.O.D Music a lot of noise hasn’t been made about this latest record deal, but the kokomaster has already confirmed the news by updating his twitter bio to read DB/Good Music/ Mercury/IDJ’ (IDJ – Island Def Jam).

D’Banj who has temporarily relocated to the US where he is working on new material, will officially be dropping Oliver Twist in the UK on May 13, and he’s also gearing up for major performance at the 2012 Barclaycard Wireless Festival taking place in London’s Hyde Park, July, 7 2012 and the BBC Hackney Weekend 2012 in London, June 23 – 24.

Nadia just doesn’t know how to put herself together for a lot of these public appearances, take for instance the above appearance which was the 2012 Jenesse Silver Rose Awards Gala which took place April 14 in Beverly Hills, CA. The semi formal affair had a lot of A listers like Halle Berry and Nadia Buari shows up looking like a hood rat in her tacky ensemble.

In a recent interview with Diasporan Star (an American based African tabloid) Ghanian actress and fake Louis Vuitton retailer Yvonne Nelson, spoke about her relationship with Nollywood bad boy Jim Iyke. Last year there were rumours making the rounds in online and print publications  that the two were involved in a torrid affair.

In the interview Yvonne debunks the rumours saying:

I am not dating Jim Iyke and that’s the truth, but I want to confess that we have a very close relationship. We have a great chemistry together- call it some form of magic between us, especially when we act together. He is a hot guy and I like him a lot. We are always together when he comes to Ghana to act in movies and I drive him around. When I am in Nigeria, he does the same for me.

There were also rumours that she was a lesbian (claims she slammed as well)

I am not a lesbian, lesbianism is against my religious beliefs, it’s against my cultural norms and I think it was very mischievous for people to insinuate such about someone they hardly knew. The rumor, was started by a notorious website in Ghana last year when they reported that they had never seen me with a man. In their warped and twisted calculation, I was a lesbian. Can you imagine such crass reasoning? That they had not seen me with a man, and may have seen me with my girlfriends going out to have fun, and then automatically I was a lesbian.

So there you have it, she was never involved with Jim Iyke and she’s not lesbian.

Let me just say most people are of the belief that homosexuality is against their religious beliefs, it doesn’t stop people from practicing it, so if that’s her reason for debunking the claims, she needs more people #JUSTSAYING

Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda, Funke Akindele and Oge Okoye were one of many celebs at AY’s comedy show which took place Easter Sunday in Lagos. While Ini, Monalisa and Funke opted for a super glam look, Oge Okoye kept it casual.
