NBC have come again!

After banning DBanj’s Oliver Twist, the dinosaurs over at NBC have banned May D‘s video for his first single Soundtrack, from being aired in Nigerian TV. Reason they gave is because of “erotic scenes”

Granted the video is sexy and I understand them not wanting young kids being exposed to such “sinful and abominable acts” but completely banning it is a bit much. Why wasn’t it restricted to being aired at certain hours, say 10pm to 5am, when most kids are asleep.

It’s not like there is anything going on in this video that isn’t taking place in people’s bedrooms across Nigeria. This is a society were politicians are marrying 12 year old girls, teachers are raping students (without consequence), girls are selling their bodies for blackberries, iPads, brazillian hair, and extra marital affairs abound. The society is already rotten banning May D’s video isn’t going to make one bit of a difference.

To be honest it’s the blogs that are keeping Dencia on everyone’s lips…her music leaves a lot to be desired. But I have to commend this Cameroonian/Nigerian’s bold pursuit of fame at any cost…and I actually like her ever changing fashion except when she looks a hot mess.

In a recent interview with National Mirror the powerhouse vocalist talks plastic surgery, THAT almighty fight at the 2011 Headies and posing nude. Dencia is claiming her body is au naturelle (yeah right?) and hasn’t been touched by the surgeon’s knife (I guess Botox doesn’t count), she also talks about posing nude for a good cause…animals and their rights.

If you don’t know what Square Ville is you are on a LONG ting! and your P-Square fan club membership should be revoked.

Monday night Senegalese American singer Akon flew into Lagos and paid recent signees to Konvict Africa, P-Square a visit at their Ikeja Mansion, aptly called Square Ville.

Looks like Akon and the Okoye boys have become very tight since the signing, with Akon even jumping on the Chop My Money remix and video. The video broke Youtube records making it the most viewed Nigerian video in a week with  over 550,000 views. Right now it has almost 2 million views  a month after it’s release.

On a totally unrelated sidenote…abeg wetin Akon dey wear? isn’t there meant to be a heatwave in Lagos?

The third offering off the DJ Klem Presents project features upcoming rapper Prince Meyson and features Shaydee on the chorus. Prince Meyson who doubles as a video director has spent the last few years working on his art & music. Crooner Shaydee has also been working on new music. I HIGHLY recommend this track.
