Black women are making history!

Last week, Air Zimbabwe made aviation history by having the first all-female flight deck crew.

Two female pilots, Captain Chipo M. Matimba and Captain Elizabeth Simbi Petros became the first pilots to lead an all female flight deck crew, flying a Boeing 737 from the capital of Harare to Victoria Falls. Both ladies took to their social media pages to share their excitement after the flight.

In the last few months the spate of armed robberies in the city of Lagos have reached scary levels.

It is not clear why there is a sudden increase of armed robberies, which was brought under control by the previous Fashola administration, one thing that is clear though is that the incidents have almost become a daily occurrence, taking place usually in traffic.

This morning a resident of Lagos took to Twitter to narrate his harrowing armed robbery experience this morning in the Onikan, Lagos Island area.

Is It Inhumane That Some US States Are Refusing To Accept Syrian Refugees Following Paris Attacks?

In the aftermath of the Paris Terror attacks last Friday The 13th of November, it was revealed that at least one of the suspects involved in the killing of 129 people Ahmad al Muhammad was probably a Syrian refugee who recently entered Europe.

This has caused Governors of several states in the United States to come out to say they will NOT accept any Syrian refugees into their states.

The Governor of Texas Greg Abbott tweeted today,

Gaunt, Bald & Frail – Diezani Allison Madueke Covers Boss Newspaper, Says She Did Not Steal Nigeria’s Money.

When I saw the above picture Dele Momodu posted on his Instagram page promoting his new newspaper publication called – The Boss, I was in shock when I realized that the sickly looking woman on the cover was actually former minister of petroleum Diezani Alison – Madueke.
Looking gaunt with dark rimmed eyes, bald hair probably due to chemotherapy for cancer treatment, a very far cry from her glamorous days as petroleum minister she emphatically insists that she did not steal Nigeria’s money.

Nigeria alcohol giant Guinness Nigeria Plc, has just been fined N1 billion (5 million dollars) by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for alleged destruction and revalidation of using expired raw materials without the authority and supervision of NAFDAC.

Supreme Court Stops Bukola Saraki’s Trial At The Code Of Conduct Tribunal

This morning, the Supreme Court stopped the trial of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

According to Vanguard, this was done so that the Supreme Court could hear the appeal that Saraki lodged before it to squash the 13 count criminal charge that the federal government leveled against him

.The five-man panel of Justices of the Supreme Court ?led by Justice John Fabiyi, stated:

“It is imperative to state that all the parties, including the Code of Conduct Tribunal, should tarry a while to enable this court to determine the appeal before it.

“In effect, further proceeding at the CCT should be stayed pending the hearing of the appeal. Hearing date will be communicated to all the parties”.
