EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Lamorde Has Been Placed On Immediate Terminal Leave

Ibrahim Lamorde, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been sacked.

Special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a press release stated that Mr. Ibrahim Mustapha Magu would be replacing Lamorde as Ibrahim Lamorde would be proceeding on terminal leave with immediate effect.

Mr. Lamorde took over from former chairman, Farida Waziri and was confirmed in the position by the senate in February 2012.

Bishop Eva Brunne of Sweden, has proposed that a church in her diocese, The Seamen’s mission church in Stockholm remove all signs of the cross & put down markings showing the direction to Mecca so Muslims can also worship in the church.

Eva Brunne made history in 2009, as the world’s first openly lesbian bishop, she has a wife – lesbian priest Gunilla Linden and together they have a young son.

Senator Aisha Alhassan Is The Once Again The First Female Governor In Nigeria As Taraba State Election Tribunal Sacks Darius Ishaku

According to reports following the Taraba State election tribunal, has named APC candidate, Senator Aisha Alhassan the first female governor of the state.

The election tribunal which is sitting in Abuja made the decision to nullify the election of PDP’s Darius Ishaka as the winner of Taraba state governorship election, thus upholding Alhassan’s April 11 win. 

This makes Senator Aisha who is also a ministerial designate, the first female governor of Taraba State.

According to Vanguard, a person has been reported dead at the protests which went on today for the detention of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Movement was disrupted along the Onitsha Enugu expressway as all roads were blocked, with the markets in Onitsha shut down for the day, as the release of their Mr. Kanu was demanded alongside other Biafran activists.

The protest started out peacefully with simple chants and songs but degenerated around 2:30 pm when a protester was shot by policemen.

After the rejection of the senate to pay the N5,000 promised to unemployed Nigerian youths by APC during the past elections, Nigerians have taken to give their opinions.

While some are against that payment, stating that it adds no value to the economy and should not be started, others are asking that the promise made should be kept.

Abortion Rate Increases In Nigeria As It Hits 1.2 Million A Year, With Highest Rates In North East

A study released by Guttmacher Institute and the University of Ibadan show that approximately 1.25 million abortions happened in the year 2012, a drastic increase from 610,000 in 1996.

According to the Guardian,  the study which is titled, “The Incidence of abortion in Nigeria” attributed the increase to a higher population and a rise in the abortion rate in the country.

Journalist & social commentator Kayode Ogundamisi has just read, Nigerian Senator & CEO of the Silverbird Group Ben Murray Bruce.

It all started when Bruce leaped to the defense of MTN who have been fined $5.2bn by the Nigerian Communication Commision (NCC) over non compliance in the deactivation of improper registered SIM cards. The fine is currently the highest imposed on any company doing business in Nigeria.

MTN has apologized and applied for leniency.

Ben Murray Bruce on his part called out NCC on the fine saying it sent the wrong signals to investors.

His comments set off social commentator and journalist Kayode Ogundamisi who shot off a series of tweets targeted at Bruce.

The Ooni–elect, Prince Adeyeye Ogunwusi is involved in a fraud case as a human rights group called, Centre for Human Eights and Social Justice, is calling for the prosecution of the Ooni-elect following allegations of fraud.

According to the Punch, a letter written by the Chairman of CHRSJ, Mr. Adeniyi Sulaiman to the chairman of EFCC, it is claimed that Prince Adeyeye obtained the sum of N400million by forgery

Goodluck Jonathan And President Buhari Meet Behind Closed Doors…What’s Cooking?

President Buhari and former president of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan bet yesterday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The details of the meeting which held behind closed doors are unknown.

Jonathan arrived at the villa at 2pm with his Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs and spent just 10 minutes with the President before leaving.

Nigerians would definitely wonder what the discussion would have been about.
