Maybach Music boss Rick Ross just dropped the Nigerian version of his hit “Hold Me Back”, He shot the video while he was in Lagos last month for the Summer Jam Festival. The video was shot in ghettos across Lagos State, and depicts Nigeria the way most people in the West view our country, as poverty stricken.

This video has caused a lot of backlash on social media forums, with many people complaining about the way Rick Ross depicted Nigeria and Nigerians. Many feel the video should have shown the affluent part of Nigeria.

The US version of this track was also shot in the hood, depicting poverty and crime in the ghetto. I  tire for Naija people sha they can complain, you are damned if you do, damned if don’t.

For those who don’t know back in 2006 Miss Kele Kele Tiwa Savage took part in singing competition XFactor UK, the show which gave us the likes of Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke. The then 26 year old made it as far as the judges house but was sent packing by over 25s mentor just before the semi finals.

In this interview with Factory 78 Tiwa talks about her XFactor rejection and how the exprience humbled her.

You can still watch it online, and on cable (DSTV and the like). You just can’t watch it on free to air TV stations like NTA (does anyone still watch that ancient echo-ey station?) Channels & STV

MMMMMMMMAYBACH MUSIC!!!!!!

Yesterday 17th August US Rapper Rick Ross rolled into Lagos for his performance last night at the Summer Jam Festival at The Eko Hotel Expo Center in Lagos. The event was star studded, complete with celebrity red carpet appearances and performances by Eva Alordiah, Iyanya, Flavor with Rick Ross taking to the stage to a rapturous Lagos crowd last.
