New Video | Hands Across the World [One8 & R.Kelly]

Last week I told you about R. Kelly joining the new African supergroup One8 and their first track “Hands Across the World” which was also produced & written by R.Kelly. The video has just dropped and it features the award winning writer, singer, producer alongside the One8 members who are no doubt the biggest music stars across Africa;  2Face (Nigeria), Alikiba (Tanzania), Amani (Kenya), Fally Ipupa (DRC), 4X4 (Ghana), JK (Zambia) Movaizhalene (Gabon), Navio (Uganda).

Video is not bad & it’s nice to see R.Kelly vibing with the other artists. Can I just say I have the biggest crush on Fally Ipupa…the man is too damn fine! **blushing**

Album Art | Ruggedman [Untouchable] & D’Banj [Mr. Endowed]

Ruggedman & D’Banj last week unveiled the album art for their respective albums.

Untouchable is the 3rd studio album from Rugedman, set to drop on the 20th Novemeber. Honestly if he hadn’t released new material this year, considering all the buzz surrounding his beef with 9ice, I’d have been shocked.  Fantastic art, can’t wait to hear the album, it’s features guest appearances from DaGrin, 2Face, P-Square, M.I. & Ice Prince.

Spotted: Omotola Performing in Lagos

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde performed a live set in Lagos last week at the 50th anniversary on advertising company Afromedia. Supported by her 10 man band she performed songs from her new album “Me, Myself & Eyes”.

Judging by the pictures she looks stunning…I mean let’s admit it…her style game has completely evolved…and she is working that black dress, which she rocked with Christian Louboutin Fernando Strappy Sandals.

More pictures after the break.

FELA! Now Showing in London

The hugely successful Broadway musical Fela! has finally been brought to London. The show which chronicles the life of the late Afrobeat king Fela Anikulapo Kuti is executive produced by Jay Z, Will & Jada Smith. So far Fela! on Broadway has run for 2 years, to rave reviews and several TONY Awards. Grammy Award Winning singer, Patti Labelle currently plays Mama Fela (Funmilayo Kuti) on the Broadway Version.

I was fortunate to see this play and it’s deserving of the rave reviews, and I’m not saying this because I’m Naija. Go see it if you can…FELA! will be showing at the National Theatre in South Bank. Get your tickets HERE.

Hopefully Lagos next…

Looks like Jim Iyke may have found his jewel…

…If this picture is anything to go by.

They are of him and girlfriend/fiancee depending on who you talk to…Keturah Hamilton. It was taken at a birthday party she threw for him last Friday in New York. Keturah is a model/actress from Jamaica…she has appeared in videos with Beenie Man (Girls), Frankie J (Obsession) & also some Nigerian movies. Jim better not play with this one…dem Island gals are CUR-RAZY!

Seeing as Jim appears to be hooked up…what then happens to his show, Jewel for Jim? I believe that’s what he is over in the states filming. Reality shows are a sham anyways…

More pics of Keturah getting her model on after the jump

Ladies, is our requirements list ridiculous?

A CGI cartoon video Black Marriage Negotiations has been making its way round the Internet. The skit shows a black woman who has a laundry list of impossible qualities she’s looking for in a man. She wants a man who can hang with the boys in the hood and kick it on the golf course. When she’s finished telling him her requirements, he says:

Man: Well, you drive a hard bargain. But, because I love you so much, I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

Woman: No you’re too weak. I need a man with a backbone who won’t let me run all over him. Besides, you’re not 6-feet-5, and that’s a deal breaker.
