Since we were first introduced to him in 1996 as one-third of hit making group Plantashun Boiz, he’s gone on to achieve solo success from having a song appear on the soundtrack of the movie “Phat Girlz” to receiving various international accolades, on “The Unstoppable (International Edition)” Innocent Idibia shows us why he is still a musical force in the industry.

Zimbabwean Makosi Musambasi made her return to Big Brother UK last night to compete with the most memorable housemates from 10 previous series for the title of Ultimate Big Brother winner. The show comes right after the winner of series 11, Josie was announced.
Makosi became best known for her Jacuzzi romp with Anthony and claiming she was pregnant by him just 3 days after! since leaving the house in 2005 she has allegedly had a fling with Russel Brand, worked as a high class call girl and is now rumored to be in a relationship with 2face Idibia. She’s joined in the house by exes Chantelle Houghton, Samuel Preston, Ulrika Jonsson, US rapper Coolio, and transsexual singer Nadia Almada, Brian Dowling, John McCririck, ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman, Nikki Grahame and Josie (series 11 winner).
In a pre-recorded interview, Makosi said she expected some friction with the women.
“I make women uncomfortable because I have this unattainable body.”
On what people can expect from her over the next few weeks, Makosi said:
“I don’t know how I am going to behave in there, or if I am going to behave in there!”
This is probably the best thing that has happened to these out of work z-listers in ages! At the end of the day a paycheck is a paycheck. In spite of her post big brother antics, I still love Makosi and I’m rooting for her to win; I have to say the union jack dress she wore for her return to the house was questionable! The attempt to channel Ginger Spice circa 1996 failed.
This by the way is the final series of Big Brother UK…Thank God.
Thanks guys for visiting and leaving comments, it’s much appreciated…kisses.
It’s bank holiday weekend this weekend, so there are quite a few events lined up. London will once again host the annual Notting Hill carnival, which gets under way on Saturday 28th August with the steel band competition. Sunday 29th is Kids’ Day, when the costume prizes are awarded and on Bank Holiday Monday 30th August, the main parade takes place and Nigeria will be represented in a big way with a float featuring a number Nigeria music and movie stars.
The Nigeria corner will make its return after the main parade with a Lagos styled concert planned by the organizer’s Sodium Brand Solutions to celebrate and showcase Nigerian music and culture. Lined up to perform are Banky W, DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Abass and Wales Gates. Over 40,000 Nigerians make the yearly pilgrimage to the carnival, which attracts over 3 million tourists.

Fashion TV (FTV) held a champagne cocktail party in Lagos on the 21st August, at the Nu Grotto in Lagos. The theme for the party was The Best of Lagos.
According to the organizers it is part of FTV’s strategic plan to position Nigeria as a fashion tourism destination of choice.
The fashion hits of the night for me were model – Isio Wanogho, Ifeoma Williams, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, to name a few.
There was some twitter drama a couple of days ago between Kemistry, former Rhythm 93.7 DJ and US rapper Wale. It all started with a tweet Kemistry sent to Wale saying Nigerian’s especially artistes feel Wale snubs their tweets, see the rest of the convo below.
Hi everyone I’m sorry i haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been so busy with stuff that has interrupted my blogging life….plus it was my birthday yesterday…YAY!!!!! I had such a fab time and I feel truly blessed, I thought I would feel depressed about it as that’s how I’ve felt every birthday after my 25th, but thankfully not this time around.
Anyways on to a brand spanking new video from ghanian group R2BEES featuring W-Cizzy! (Wande Coal) – Kiss Your Hand. Average Video, Average Song but I’m loving the sub continental collaborations currently going on in the music & film industry.
What are your thoughts?
London based Nigeria fashion designer Duro Olowu recently unveiled his most recent collection. The collection is a modern take on 1970’s fashion featuring bright colours, theatrical shapes and bold prints.
On a sidenote, this may be totally un-PC (politically correct) but i have to express my frustration at constantly seeing black designers who don’t use black models or models of colour on their runways or campaigns. Especially as there aren’t that many opportunities in the fashion industry for models of colour, it would be nice if designers of colour at least used models that look like them. Don’t get me wrong I’m not calling for the exclusion of white models from a black designer’s runway or campaign but a nice mix would be great!
With that off my chest, this is fab collection.
