“It Was A Mistake To Think They Are The Way Forward”, Eldee Says PMB’s Administration Isn’t Helping The Country

With the dire state of the economy it comes as no surprise that people who once supported Muhammadu Buhari as president are now having a change of heart.

Rapper and producer, Eldee who was vocal about his support for PMB took to Twitter recently to express his feelings about the current administration which is a year old.

He wrote, 

I did support PMB and if placed in same conditions as the time, I’d do so again. That he is not able to do what we expected is a diff story.

He went on to state that he will still make the same choice of supporting PMB if placed in the same conditions as there were no good options at that time

OAP Freeze has taken to Instagram to demand answers about the current situation of Mayowa Ahmed, the stage 4 cancer patient who raised over 80 million naira from the Nigerian public in 3 days and shortly thereafter the authenticity of her fundraising efforts were called into question when it was labeled a scam by actress Toyin Aimakhu and blogger Linda Ikeji.

Freeze who is very vocal about his opinions on hot topics, last night questioned why Mayowa had still not been flown out of the country for treatment even though over N120 million has been raised by the #SaveMayowa fund. He also queried why the story had been swept under the carpet.

Press Freedom Or Nah? Twitter Nigeria In Uproar Over EFCC Arrest Of Blogger Abubakar Sidiq For Alleged Cyber Stalking

News emerged today [Aug. 8] that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arrested blogger, Abubakar Sidiq for alleged cyber stalking.

Sadiq who is the publisher of Abusidiqu.com, was arrested by the commission officials in his Abuja home in front of his wife and children.

It has been alleged on Twitter that even though cyber stalking was cited as the official reason for his arrest the real reason might be because of an article published on his site about fraud.

The Commision has released a statement regarding the arrest and it says,

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC today arrested Mr. Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a blogger, for offences bordering on cyber stalking. The suspect who is the publisher of Abusidiqu.com was picked up at his Kubwa, Abuja home in the early hours of Monday August 8, 2016 by operatives of the EFCC and is currently being questioned over the alleged offence which contravenes sections of the Cyber Crime Act.

The suspect has already been offered administrative bail and would be released to his elected sureties.

Before his release Sadiq was one of the top trending topics on Twitter Nigeria as social media savvy Nigerians took to the microblogging site to clamor for his release and call for free speech.

A few days ago we told you about the Minister of Sports – Solomon Dalung‘s embarrassing response to the Under 23 football team being stranded in the Atlanta enroute to The Rio Olympics.

He not only referred to Nigeria as the “United States of Nigeria” but he also said it wasn’t his or the ministry’s responsibility that the team got stranded.

Irrespective of Dalung’s cringe worthy  comments the boys went on to beat Japan 5 – 4 barely 5 hours after arriving in Rio.
